ENTWINED LEARNING SPACES
La nuova scuola è composta da un cluster di atelier immersi nel verde e connessi da un sinuoso percorso. Gli atelier sono spazi neutri che si prestano ad essere flexibles learning spaces for any new pedagogical systems. I tetti piani sono verdi, i tetti inclinati sono coperti di pannelli fotovoltaici. La scuola avrà una piccola pala eolica. Gli impianti tecnologici sono visibili perchè insegnano. Ampie vetrate apribili, assenza di muri perimetrali per la massima permeabilità visiva e spaziale. Le pareti divisorie sono mobili (armadi) su ruote: modulari, contenitive, per appendere, proiettare ecc. La biblioteca è diffusa. Si alternano spazi per la collaborazione, spazi informali, spazi per la riflessione, agorà. Il percorso è come la passerella del porto: ha leggere salite fruibili per le persone disabili, la disabilità deve essere normalità. La scuola è fornita di una palestra regolamentare accessibile anche dall’esterno che diventa al bisogno lo spazio per le manifestazioni. Sopra la palestra una grande terrazza per le manifestazioni all’aperto. Durante il giorno the student non rimane fermo all’interno di una classe, ma dovrà spostarsi, uscire anche all’aperto, prendere l’ombrello e recarsi in un atelier per un laboratorio o in un altro per la lezione di musica o all’aperto per disegnare “en plein air” o imparare a curare un orto. Potrà anche salire sulla torretta per vedere la scuola dall’alto. Il parcheggio dei genitori diventa una piccola pista per lo skateboard.

The new school is composed of a learning atelier cluster surronded by greenery and connected by a sinuous path. Atelier are neutral spaces that lend themselves to be flexibles learning spaces for any new pedagogical systems. Openable large glass windows, absence of outer walls to allow vision through the spaces and maximum spatial permeability. Dividing walls are multifunctional wheeled furniture (bookcases, storages, whiteboards, panels): modular frameworks, which can become storage shelves, vertical supports onto which teachers and students may attach sheets of paper and boards, to project footage. The library is widespread. Collaboration spaces, informal spaces, individual reflection spaces, agorà are alternated. The path is created alike a boardwalk of a harbour: not too steep to climb and suitable for disabled people. Disability must be normality, the new school must be inclusive. The school is equipped with a regulation-size gym accessible also from the outside which becomes a space for events to the need. Above the gym there’s a big terrace for outdoor events. Flat roofs are green, shed roofs are covered by solar panels. The school will have a little wind turbine. The technologycal systems are visible. During the day the students never remain still in a classroom, they can move and can go outside. They can take an umbrella and go to an atelier for a workshop, or to another atelier for a music lesson.
They can go outside to draw ‘en plein air’ or do the gardening. They can climb the little tower to see the school from above. The parking lot for parents becomes a little skateboard track.
